The World’s Largest Mascot Lives at Katmandu Park!

July 05, 2016

High above Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, Boro the Great™ scales the rocky face of steep mountain mural on the side of the hotel. The giant yeti turns his head occasionally to roar and watch onlookers who admire him in awe from below.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Boro the Great™ is the world’s largest mascot, measuring 13 meters tall. Boro was measured and officially named to his world’s biggest mascot status on April 25, 2014. The gigantic yeti was brought by ship to Mallorca in early 2014 and transported from port to the park on a huge flatbed truck to his home at Katmandu. Once there, he was carefully raised into place (25 meters in the sky!) and secured to the hotel wall where he could have a clear vantage point of The House of Katmandu and the rest of Katmandu Park.

In addition to watching over park and resort guests, Boro safeguards the powerful Red Jewel, Desirata, that gives guests unleashed Freedom to Play. Join us at Katmandu Park and see the mighty yeti in person – adventure awaits!
